Electricity is the most essential key in using any electrical gadgets and equipment. Equipment such as desktops  and even battery operated gadgets like laptops and tablets need electricity to operate. The most basic problem is that there is no electrical supply often referred to as "No Power".

simple remedies:

(Applicable for Desktop Computers Only)

Step 1. Check the power cord connection at the back of the computer unit. It might be loose so make sure that the power cord is inserted properly in the power supply unit of the computer.
Step 2. If the problem still exist, check the power outlets if they are working. Simply plug any working electronic device directly to the AC Wall Socket and test if it is working.

Step 3. If you are not using an extension cord, Surge Protector, AVR, or an UPS skip to step 4. If you are using an extension cord, try plugging your computer directly on the wall socket.  If you power cord does not match with the outlet on your wall, use an AC adopter.
If you are using an AVR or UPS, check if the power switch is in "ON" position and check if the power led is lit. If your AVR or UPS power led has no light, there might be a problem with your AVR or UPS, try plugging the computers power cord directly on the wall socket. If the computer works, then  you need to replace your AVR or UPS.
Step 4. It is also possible that your power cord might be damaged externally or internally. Use your monitor power cord to check if it will work. If it does, replace your power cord.
Step 5. If you reach this step, it only means that the problem could only be either the power supply unit or the motherboard. Some motherboard have a power led light indicator to make sure that the motherboard receives electricity from the PSU.
CAUTION!:
Before you proceed with the next step, you should know and practice the Safety Precautionary Standards in opening and handling computer parts and components.

If the power led light indicator is not lit, check both the 24-pin and 4-pin power cable connector and the connector on the motherboard and see if they are loosely connected.
To make sure that they are properly connected, disconnect them by pressing the plastic clip lock and gently pull the connector. After disconnecting them, reconnect them again by pushing it back gently the same way you disconnect them. If you hear a clipping sound, it is properly connected. After this, check if the power led light indicator is lit. For motherboards that doesn't have a power led light indicator, just turn your computer on and see if it will work.

Step 6. Check the power supply unit, remove all its power cables from the motherboard first. Secondly, get a paper clip and straighten it up. Then, remove the rubber coat on both end.
After that, find the female 24-pin motherboard power connector and insert one end of the clip on any black wire and insert the other end to the green wire. Don't worry because there is only one green wire but there are eight black wires.
Plug the PSU power cord directly to the wall socket and if the PSU fan is rotating, then your PSU is working. If in-case the PSU fan is not moving, replace your power supply unit.
CAUTION!: Don't try to open and repair the PSU unless you are trained professional electrician. You might get yourself electrocuted.

"Did you know that a simple electric shock can cause the heart to stop beating?"
Step 7. If you reach this step, it only indicates that the problem would probably be the motherboard. But before you try replacing your motherboard, consult a licensed Computer Technician first. There are other advanced method or process of troubleshooting that I cannot include in this tutorials. It is due to a very delicate procedures and one wrong move could possibly harm both you and your computer unit.
